研究概要

DNAは明瞭な2重らせん構造を持ちながら、多様な結合モードを介して機能分子を構造中に取込むことができ、またDNA自身や包摂分子間の相互作用により“DNAソフトクリスタル”ともいえる集合状態を形成できる。本研究では、構造的電子的に特徴あるDNA等に交流電界を印加することで高次配向集積させ、さらに機能分子を組織化した光・電子機能性のDNAソフトクリスタルを創製する。このDNAソフトクリスタルの外部刺激に対する電子機能や円偏光制御等の学理を探求するとともに、その機能を基とする革新的素子開発を目指す。具体的には、DNA等らせん生体高分子と光電機能分子からなる高次組織体を交流電界法にて一軸配向させたソフトクリスタルを作製する。一軸配向したDNA等らせん生体高分子ソフトクリスタルにおける高次機能を実現すると共に、円偏光発光素子や低刺激応答光機能素子等革新的素子などの開発を行う。
